American Seating Park is the redevelopment of the historic American Seating Company factory complex on the West Side of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Carbon River Capital's investment is structured as a syndication.
The asset
The factory complex dates to 1888 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The redevelopment converted the former manufacturing buildings into a mixed-use campus. It includes Off-Broadway Apartments (a 67-unit student housing building), Clark Place (22 residential units), about 150,000 square feet of office space, and a restaurant and bar.
Recognition
The project received the Governor's Award for Historic Preservation.
