Privacy policy

This policy explains what Carbon River Capital LLC (“Carbon River Capital”, “we”, “us”) collects through this website, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect what you send us through the contact form and the standard logs any web server keeps. We do not sell personal information.

Information you give us

When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number and company if you provide them, the reason you select and the text of your message. Please do not send account numbers, Social Security numbers or other sensitive financial details through the form.

If you email or call us, we keep the correspondence and the contact details you used.

Information collected automatically

Our web server and hosting provider record standard log data for each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and browser and device information sent by your browser. We use these logs to run the site, keep it secure, troubleshoot problems and block abuse. The contact form also records the time the page was loaded and includes a hidden field, both used only to filter automated spam.

Cookies and tracking

The public pages of this site do not set advertising cookies and do not load third-party analytics, advertising or social media trackers. Fonts and images are served from our own server. If you sign in to a restricted area of the site, we set a single session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for that purpose.

There is one exception. The portfolio map on the Investments page stays closed until you choose to open it. Viewing the map loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address, as any web server does when your browser asks it for a file. The OpenStreetMap Foundation describes how it handles that information in its own privacy policy.

How we use information

• To reply to your inquiry and keep a record of the conversation.
• To evaluate a potential business relationship with you or your company.
• To operate, secure and improve the website.
• To meet legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations.

We do not use contact form submissions to send marketing email without your consent.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who host the site, deliver email and store records for us, under obligations to protect it.
• Our affiliates and professional advisers, such as attorneys and accountants, where needed.
• Regulators, courts or law enforcement when the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
• A successor entity in a merger, reorganization or sale of the business.

Investor portal

The Investor Portal linked from this site is operated by a third-party provider. Information you enter there is handled under that provider’s terms and privacy policy, not under this website policy.

Retention

We keep contact form messages and related correspondence for as long as needed to respond and to maintain our business records, and longer where the law requires. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection and access to submitted information is limited to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email max@thirdcoastdev.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. We may need to keep some information to meet legal obligations.

Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
