CRC SC Investment LLC, known as the SnackCraft fund, is a convertible debt investment sponsored by Carbon River Capital. It is structured as a syndication and is tied to SnackCraft LLC. It is a credit position, not a direct holding of property.
The company
SnackCraft opened its Kentwood operation in January 2023 with two production lines serving customers across North America. The company expanded the operation in 2024. That expansion was supported in part by a Michigan Business Development Program grant.
The facility
SnackCraft has been adding production lines inside the existing building and has identified a need for more production space on the same site.
The building itself, 4444 52nd Street SE, is a separate Carbon River Capital investment.
The Opportunity
SnackCraft is a snack co-packer and contract manufacturer with European roots that chose 4444 52nd Street SE in Kentwood, Michigan, as its U.S. headquarters. It occupies the building, on a 22-acre site, under a long-term lease. Third Coast Development, our affiliate, acquired and renovated that property.
Carbon River's Approach
Carbon River Capital sponsored CRC SC Investment LLC, known as the SnackCraft fund, as a convertible debt investment tied to SnackCraft. Convertible debt is a loan that can convert into an ownership stake under terms agreed at the outset.
